Known Bugs

Timing issues: if you click on a bubble and it always takes you back to the beginning, if the timing is always off by a certain amount, or if the audio is the incorrect length (like 27 hours long) the issue is with the encoding of the mp3 file you are using (Timeliner expects fixed bitrate rather than variable rate mp3s). Hopefully, Audio Timeliner will detect this and offer to convert the file to WAV format for you. If this doesn't work, you can convert your mp3 file at a site like https://online-audio-converter.com/ (upload and convert / download your file) or in a program like Audacity (just open the file and export it again as MP3). Another option would be to convert your file to wav or m4a.

Zoom issues: for Mac users, audio from the Timeliner might not be sent through Zoom correctly. One solution is to use an application called Audio Hijack, which records the audio of the selected application. Select "Audio Timeliner" in Audio Hijack and begin to "record", then share the desktop through Zoom. This will allow others to both see and hear Audio Timliner [see Audio Hijack configuration here].

Macs only: Clicking on timeline (.tim) files outside of the application will launch Audio Timeliner, but will not load the specific timeline. (Files can always be opened from within the application.)

Hey there! if you enjoy using Audio Timeliner and have a buck or two to spare,
please contribute to my "Keep Audio Timeliner Alive" fund. Thanks!
